Marketing, web development, and SaaS, under one roof. Seven years of building, hosting, and supporting small businesses across the Carolinas and Florida.
From the founder
My name is Ruben. I started Cast Marketing in 2018 from a small office in New Bern, North Carolina, and we've been building since.
The name didn't come from a brainstorm. It came from a moment I didn't see coming.
I was three years out of the United States Marine Corps, sitting in Florida, trying to figure out what was next. I had an idea for a business but I kept stalling on what to call it. Every name I tried felt off. I sat with it for weeks.
One night, I had two choices in front of me: head to the Hard Rock Casino, or go to a worship service at an arena a friend had told me about. Last minute, almost by accident, I picked the arena.
The pastor stopped mid-message, looked into the seats, and called out: “You in Row 2, Seat 309.” That was me. He said God had told him weeks before to find this person and pass on a message: cast your net again. He said the business I'd been turning over in my head was already named. It was Cast.
I couldn't argue with that. The next morning I started building.
The deeper meaning of the name comes from Luke 5. Jesus tells Peter to cast his nets one more time. Peter had been fishing all night and caught nothing. He casts the net anyway, and the haul is so big the boats nearly sink. That's the story we live by here. Most small businesses are doing the work, fishing all night without much to show for it. They don't need someone to explain how hard it is. They need a partner who will cast the net in the right water and pull the haul up with them.
To be honest and transparent, we've all been there. I tried to kill this company more than once over the years. Selling it off. Walking away and handing my clients to a trusted friend. Every time, God kept pushing me back to the work. About three years ago I moved past those self-doubts, and today I can honestly say I'm a happy business owner.
Every time I came close to closing it down, more clients showed up. A friend, Pastor Ab, told me one day: “Bro, you can't stop what God planned.” I think about that line often.
I've never felt worthy of what's come through this business. I'm not the loudest or the smoothest in the room. I've made mistakes, taken on the wrong projects, undercharged, overpromised. Through all of it, my clients stayed and the work kept coming. I take that as grace, not credit.
Seven years in, we've built websites, run marketing programs, and shipped software for restaurants, hotels, real-estate teams, contractors, professional services, collegiate sports programs, and the kind of small businesses that keep regions running, across the Carolinas, Florida, and Hawaii. Some clients have been with us for years. Some moved on when their kids took over the books. Every one of them got a real team while we worked together, not a faceless agency, not a ticket queue.
I built Cast because I was tired of watching small operators get sold cookie-cutter sites by people who'd never met them. Tired of the “marketing” that vanishes the week after the contract starts. So I made the kind of agency I'd hire myself: honest about pricing, allergic to jargon, on the phone when you call, and willing to say not uswhen we're the wrong fit.
I'm not saying God will bless you by doing business with me. I am saying I'm on a mission for God with this business. I'm not always sure where it's going, but the ride has been fun, humbling, and a long string of lessons.
If that sounds like the kind of partner your business is missing, I'd like to hear from you.

Three lanes, one shop, one team. Most clients use two of the three.
Custom builds in modern frameworks. Mobile-first, fast, conversion-focused. We design, build, host, and support every site we ship. No CMS handoffs, no abandonment.
See website pricing →Programs, not campaigns. SEO, paid media, content, lifecycle, and reporting that compounds over months and years instead of dying after a quarter.
See marketing programs →When the off-the-shelf tools don't fit, we build custom platforms. Booking systems, dashboards, internal tools, multi-tenant apps. Same team, same care.
See software work →We work everywhere our clients are, but we know two regions cold.
Home base
New Bern, the Crystal Coast, the Outer Banks, Greenville, Wilmington. We've built sites and run marketing for restaurants, hotels, real-estate teams, contractors, dentists, marinas, collegiate athletics, and event venues across the region. We know the off-season, hurricane season, and the seasonal rhythms.

Second region
A fast-growing metro with hospitality, healthcare, real-estate, contractors, and collegiate sports programs all competing for attention. We work across the Jax beaches, downtown, and the surrounding suburbs.

Outside those two regions, we work nationally. Some of our longest-running clients are in Tennessee, the Gulf Coast, and California. Geography is a good signal, not a hard rule.
Six things we believe and try to live up to. Read them and see if any of it sounds like the agency you want.
Our pricing lives on a public page. The build cost, the monthly hosting, the financing options. You see what we charge before the call.
No deliverables, no synergy, no leverage. We talk about the work in plain language. If we can't explain it without buzzwords, we don't fully understand it yet.
Email is fine. Call when something's burning. You'll talk to a real person who knows your account, not a routing system.
If we're the wrong fit, we'll tell you. If a project's outside what we ship well, we'll point you to someone who'll do it right.
Most of our clients are on year three, four, or five. Sites and marketing programs that compound, not campaigns that die after launch.
Cast designs, builds, hosts, monitors, supports, and maintains every site we ship. One team. No handoffs.
